Bowback House is HG Living’s first development with Pension Insurance Corporation, an exciting collaboration which will transform a vacant office block known as Bowback House into purpose-designed rental apartments that go above and beyond current requirements for energy efficiency. HG Construction is the main contractor on the scheme, which will support the local economy with the creation of 750 jobs during the construction phase.
This Build-to-Rent scheme is aligned with our commitment to creating high quality, sustainable living spaces, combining our property development and construction capabilities to deliver these homes at speed and at scale. The development will provide 306 new residential apartments and will include a residents’ lounge, gym, fitness studio, sky lounge, multi-use games room and external amenity spaces.
The Milton Keynes development has been designed gas free as an electric only development. Hot water is provided using air source heat pumps, heating via green electricity suppliers only, and photovoltaic panels on the roof spaces provide renewable energy.
The development is targeting a minimum 4* Homes Quality Mark rating, a minimum WiredScore Gold rating, with all apartments to achieve a minimum EPC rating of ‘B’. The property will install 22KW EV chargers for 20 electric cars with secure storage for 336 bikes including E-bike chargers.
Construction is due to complete in Summer 2024.
