HG Living has made two key appointments to the business in line with its strategic growth plans. Craig McPhail joins as Director from Montagu Evans, where he was a Profit-Sharing Partner and Head of Alternative Living, and James Young joins as Executive Director from The Collective.
Craig is a recognised specialist in the field of student accommodation, residential development and investment. He has overseen acquisitions and sales with a GDV in excess of £1 billion over the last five years. Craig’s new role at HG Living will see him assume responsibility for the sourcing and identifying of purpose-built student accommodation, Build-to-Rent and Affordable Housing sites across the UK, appraisal and acquisition of these opportunities, and the sale of developments in line with the Board’s objectives.
James Young is a property development specialist with a solid track record of successfully delivering large commercial and residential developments. He has been involved in some of London’s largest urban regeneration and development schemes, leading projects through site acquisition, finance raising, design, planning, procurement and construction related activities. He will be responsible for the day-to-day project management at HG Living, managing project teams and overseeing the development process.
The new appointments join the HG Living team as the company moves into new office premises in Farringdon, London.
